Here is part 2 of the E session. This time we wanted a field so we could do some pictures incorporating this cute sign Brianna and my brother made. Brianna painted the bottom sign with the date on it at the last minute before the session because they were still finalizing the date with the wedding venue!

Bri & Adam love Dr. Pepper! They are going to have these cute bottles for their guests at the wedding too.

My adorable niece Brianna is getting married! I can’t believe it. She was a cute little flower girl in my wedding 18 years ago and now she is getting married herself. Adam is the perfect match for her and I couldn’t be happier for the two of them. We did two different sessions for her E session because Brianna had so many cute ideas and because, well, we could! For the first session Brianna and Adam wanted to have a barn in the background. Adam is a bit of a cowboy, he attends college at Texas A&M University. He’s an Aggie!

Gone missing

I can’t believe it’s been over three months since the last time I blogged anything! I have been busy getting the new studio together and trying to be a good mommy to my three kids. We had a great summer and I finally got the studio to a level I can live with. It’s not perfect yet but I LOVE it! It’s nice to take my work out of the house and be in an actual “work space”. Now when I go home at the end of the day I can just focus on my family, which is wonderful. I have so many great photos to share! I have done some really fun stuff this summer. So anyway. . . .the kids went back to school today and I am going to try to get back into the blog thing. I love sharing the pictures, it’s just the words I’m not so good at! I feel like I always sound like a goon. No matter, most of you know I am a goon anyway so who am I trying to fool! I am going to try and just write what’s in my brain and not worry about how it sounds ;0) So if you catch a run on sentence or a misspelled word, just keep in mind it’s about the pictures k?

So here is a photo of my sister-in-law Bonnie and I putting up my cool wallpaper in the new studio. I was scared to do it by myself and I knew that I could count on Bonnie to help. You see, she pretty much wallpapered every room in her house in the 90’s and became an expert at it! She was a little nervous getting started, but we got a good groove going and it turned out great!

Well. . . . by now you all know the big news right? I have a new studio!! I am so excited about it and can’t wait to share it with you. I will be having a grand opening celebration in the next few weeks so stay tuned for dates and location. I have been super busy getting moved and settled in the new place, and also still taking lots of pictures. These next photos are of the new backdrop/set I have. Thanks for your comments, it’s good to know someone is out there! I need MORE comments! Photographers are so needy! I need your love and support. Send me more comments! Come on. . .it’s not that hard, just a simple comment. Well. . . I do have some new backdrops and some new props on the way, but that’s not the BIG NEWS. I have a new look too.

I love damask. My parents had the coolest dark red damask velvet wallpaper in their bedroom back in the day and I loved it! They also had a round bed! It was impossible for my mom to find sheets for that bed.

So damask is a feature for my new look because I have always loved it and I feel like it’s just me!

Here is a photo of one of the new backdrops that I have. This is Brittney and I just loved that she brought this really cool headband net thing. She is a high school senior at Woodcrest Christian.

O.k. So I am supposed to give you another clue. So. . . as many of you know, my life has changed so much in the past year, and with those new and wonderful changes comes new challenges and obstacles. I have discovered so many things about myself that I think I was unable to see before. Sometimes it takes one big change to see other small things in my life. I love being 40. . . .yes, I said it. . . .40! Almost 41. But wow. . . I know now what I want, what I love, and what I can say NO to if I want. What I love? Taking pictures. Making people smile. It makes ME smile. It gives me pure joy. More than I knew before. So I guess clue #2 would be that I am steppin’ out!

I am at WPPI in Vegas right now at a photography convention learning lot’s of cool new things for my business. There are LOTS of changes coming! I won’t share them with you now but stay tuned for some sneak peaks and fun things! This is little Mara who is the sweetest thing. Is she a Gerber baby or what? I will be back next week all super charged and excited to answer calls and emails.

It’s that time of year when everything starts to look really pretty outside. The fields are blooming and the stores are setting out their Easter stuff. This is my favorite time of year. I couldn’t wait to share this picture of Payton we took this week. I should be working on important things right now but Payton’s little face just makes me so happy! She has daddy’s eyes and pretty much looks just like him! This little set up was a spontaneous idea that emerged from Jessica, Holly(Payton’s mommy) and me. I grabbed the flowers, Jessica remembered that we had that cute hat and when we put her on the floor I decided she needed to be wrapped in something green. We were all trying to think of something and then Holly said “do you have a scarf or something?” I ran upstairs and found the scarf in the perfect shade of green! Love it!

This one doesn’t need much introduction. I get to see Brianne every couple of months because she is taking advantage of our baby package that records their first year in pictures, and it’s fabulous!! This little chubba cutie pie has red hair and the best cheeks ever! This is her 6 month session and so far my favorite session with her. Can’t wait to see those cheeks again at 9 months!
